11 Australian men and nine Australian women will compete in the 2021 Australian Open qualifying draws, set to take place in Doha and Dubai respectively.

2021 Australian Open Qualifying will commence on January 10, with the men set to compete at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, Qatar. The women's draw will be played at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium and Complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, beginning on the same date.

Former world no.17 Bernard Tomic will be the highest ranked Australian in the men's draw, joined by fellow Aussie direct entrants Andrew Harris and Max Purcell, who will be looking to qualifying for the second consecutive year.

Former top 100 players Jason Kubler and Matthew Ebden have both received wildcards into the qualifying event, as have teenage trio Rinky Hijikata, Tristan Schoolkate and Dane Sweeny.

Blake Mott, Akira Santillan and last years wildcard playoff winner John-Patrick Smith are also amongst the wildcard recipients. There is still one vacant wildcard to be awarded into the men's qualifying draw.

On the women's side, Kimberly Birrell will compete in her first tour level event since Wimbledon 2019, using her protected ranking to gain direct entry into the qualifying draw. Birrell will be looking to replicate the form that saw her reach the third round at Melbourne Park in 2019 before injury stalled her promising career.

Also a direct entry into qualifying is 25 year old Ellen Perez, who was unlucky not to receive a main draw wildcard.

Seone Mendez, Storm Sanders, Abbie Myers, Ivana Popovic, Alexandra Bozovic, Olivia Gadecki and 16 year old Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz have all received wildcards into the qualifying draw, with two wildcards still to be handed out on the women's side.
