In last nights edition of The First Serve, Brett Phillips alongside Sam Groth delved into the many issues facing the tennis world in the midst of the coronavirus crisis.

Leading tennis writer Courtney Walsh joined the show to discuss all these issues and provide his insight.

They explored the idea of the ATP and WTA merging to form one organisation.

"I'm hearing that they're (the WTA) financially in dire straights right now. You've gotta think it'll be the ATP propping up the WTA side of things for the moment," Groth said.

The player relief fund was also discussed among other issues facing the tennis world.

Phillips and Groth discussed the possibility of the tour recommencing in July next year. "They're just planning for a worst case scenario, which is what they've got to do," Groth said.

High performance coach Marc Sophoulis joined the show to provide us with an insight into the current coaching landscape.

Rob Brandham from Evolve Sports Physio also joined the show to discuss some of the issues facing tennis players in isolation.
