Nick Kyrgios returns to the court this week at the Delray Beach Open as the number one seed, leading a pack of Aussie players competing on the tour.
Kyrgios will open his campaign in Florida against a close friend on tour - Tommy Paul. It will be the pairs first meeting.
John Millman who is the fifth seed will be in action, taking on Yoshihito Nishioka in the first round. This will be a tricky encounter for Millman who was defeated by Nishioka in straight sets in Cincinnati last year. However, Millman still leads their head to head 2-1 having beaten Nishioka twice prior.
Following his quarterfinal appearance in New York, Jordan Thompson is also in action, facing Serbian Miomir Kecmanovi?. This will be the pairs fourth meeting with Kecmanovi? winning on all three previous occasions, including their most recent meeting last month at the Qatar Open.
Fresh off a 6-1, 6-3 win over Pol Toledo Bague, Bernard Tomic faces Ernests Gulbis in the final round of qualifying with a spot in the main draw up for grabs. Tomic leads Gulbis 2-0 in their head to head, including a win over the Latvian last year. Alex Bolt went down to American wildcard Stefan Kozlov 6-4, 4-6, 2-6 in the first round of qualifying.
In doubles action, Nick Kyrgios and Jordan Thompson will play against the no.1 seeds the Bryan brothers in a blockbuster match. John Millman teams up with Matt Reid with the Aussie duo taking on 4th seeds Luke Bambridge & Ben Mclachlan.
Over in Marseille, Alexei Popyrin will come up against Canadian Steven Diez in the first round of qualifying. Popyrin will also team up with Alexander Bublik in the doubles, taking on the combination of Benoit Paire and David Vega Hernandez.
Ajla Tomljanovic was the only Aussie in singles action on the WTA circuit this week, unfortunately going down to Bethanie Mattek-Sands 4-6, 6-3, 6-7(7) in the first round of qualifying in a star-studded Dubai field. Monique Adamczak and Russian partner Yana Sizikova have been awarded a wildcard into the doubles draw and will come up against American duo Sofia Kenin & Bethanie Mattek-Sands in the opening round.
At challenger level, Christopher O'Connell, Andrew Harris & Max Purcell are all in action at the Drumondville Challenger, all seeded and therefore straight through to the second round with a bye. Harris & Purcell are the third seeds in the doubles draw, facing British duo Liam Broady & Scott Clayton first up.
In Mexico, Harry Bourchier, Luke Saville and John-Patrick Smith will all be in action with the main draw to be released overnight.
