Aussie duo Alex de Minaur and Matt Reid have registered their spot in the second round of Roland Garros, as Daria Gavrilova and Astra Sharma exited the tournament on day four.
Alex de Minaur and Matt Reid advanced to the second round of doubles at Roland Garros. The Aussie pair claimed a 6-4, 6-7(4), 7-5(5) victory over Serbian pair Dusan Lajovic and Nikola Cacic and will come up against 3rd seeds Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram in the third round.
Aussie lucky loser Astra Sharma was defeated in the second round by 27th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 3-6, 3-6.
Fellow Aussie Daria Gavrilova enjoyed a successful comeback to grand slam tennis with a first round win, but was knocked out overnight by Canadian wildcard Eugenie Bouchard 7-5, 4-6, 3-6.
Jordan Thompson advanced to the second round of doubles with partner Robert Lindstedt as did Ajla Tomljanovic with partner Alison Riske. Arina Rodionova and partner Zarina Diyas were knocked out in the opening round.
Marc Polmans will be in action on day five. The last Aussie alive in the singles draw will take on 20th seed Cristain Garin in a bid to advance to the third round of a grand slam for the first time.
