John Millman was one of three Australians to exit Roland Garros on day two of the tournament, as Marc Polmans and Alexei Popyrin will have to wait until tomorrow for their first round matches.

Millman faced 22 break points and went down to 17th seed Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets 3-6, 2-6, 5-7 in two hours and 16 minutes.

The Aussie was broken on eight occasions and struggled on serve for most of the match, hitting just one ace for the day.

James Duckworth also went down on day two, beaten comfortable my American Tommy Paul 2-6, 3-6, 2-6 in a match that lasted just one hour and 43 minutes.

The 28 year old served just one ace and struggled in the heavy conditions, broken seven times and hitting a whopping 41 unforced errors compared to Paul's mere 14.

Qualifier Aleksandar Vukic also suffered a straight sets defeat on day two, going down to Spaniard Pablo Martinez 5-7, 4-6, 0-6.

The Aussie was unable to take his chances in his grand slam debut, converting just one of 11 break point opportunities.

At 5-4 in the opening set, Vukic had two set points on Martinez's serve but wasn't able to convert. The Spaniard held serve and won three consecutive games, stealing the first set 7-5 and going on to drop just four games for the remainder of the match.

Aussies Alexei Popyrin and Marc Polmans were scheduled to play on day two but a rain delay derailed the days schedule and now they will play their first round matches on day three.

Both players will play first up on day three. Popyrin will come up against South African Lloyd Harris in the opening match of the day on Court 10 and Polmans will take on Frenchman Ugo Humbert first up on Court 14.
