Iga Świątek's form has worsened after failing to defend her title at the Italian Open, admitting she is "doing things wrong".
The 23-year-old, who has failed to capture a title since winning Roland-Garros last June, exited the WTA 1000 event in Rome to former Australian Open runner-up Danielle Collins 6-1, 7-5.

A poor run of results will snap Świątek's 1161 day streak in the world's top-three, with the Polish star set to drop out for the first time since March 2022.
"I just don't think I've been present to fight and compete. I focused on the mistakes, and it's my fault because I'm not doing things right," she confessed post-match.
"I feel like I only concentrate on what I'm doing well. Clearly, I am doing things wrong. I need to reflect and change."
Four titles at the French Open should offer any player a feeling of invincibility, but Świątek will touch down in Paris with minimal expectations.
"Obviously, it would be stupid to expect much from Roland-Garros because I am not in a position to play my game at this moment. I have spoken with my team and they have given me some advice. I will try to apply it because I need to change my mentality," she said.
"I don't care what people say, and it doesn't matter what feeling I have when I arrive at Roland-Garros. Each year is different, so the sensations the place gives me don't matter."
Earlier this week, Świątek shut down rumours about potentially ditching the grass court season.
