22-year-old Eliakim Coulibaly has written himself into the history books by becoming the first player from the Ivory Coast to win an ATP Challenger event.
He backed up his come-from-behind semi-final win to defeat Tunisian top-seed Aziz Dougaz 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-4, and secured his maiden Challenger crown after previously taking home 10 ITF titles.
As expected, the crowd failed to contain their excitement.
Adding another layer of feel-good vibes, the Challenger event was held in Coulibaly's home of Abidjan for the first time.
"For moments like this, I work so hard. It’s just a reward, so I’m very happy," Coulibaly said with joy.

Positive words were echoed by Tournament Director Arzel Mevellec, reflecting on a prosperous week.
"The spectators are very excited about the competition; It’s fantastic. People have embraced the new event very well, and that's good. We are at the beginning of something special," he said.
Coulibaly has soared 55 places in the live rankings to sit at a career-high No.269.
