Australia's Nick Kyrgios is doubtful to feature at the upcoming Australian Open after being forced to withdraw from an exhibition match against Novak Djokovic.
The former world No.13 has constantly struggled to keep his body 100 per cent due to multiple surgeries, with last week's Brisbane International appearance marking his first competitive match since June 2023.
Having suffered a tight three-set defeat to big-serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Kyrgios admitted after the match that he would "almost need a miracle" and "stars to align" for his lingering wrist issue to hold up at Melbourne Park.

He underwent surgery on his wrist in September 2023, fearing that he may never be able to step onto the court again.
However, in a new development, the 29-year-old has revealed that an abdominal injury was discovered during an ultrasound test.
Kyrgios reached out to his followers on Instagram to provide news on his latest setback.
"Unfortunately won't be able to play my good friend [Novak Djokovic] this Thursday on the 9th as I've had an ultrasound on my abdominal and have a grade 1 strain," Kyrgios wrote.
"Will be resting and doing everything I can to be OK by the AusOpen."
Djokovic's charity exhibition, 'A Night With Novak', has been sold out for Thursday night at Rod Laver Arena, including a doubles match with his current coach Andy Murray and Australian Open runner-up Qinwen Zheng.
The 2025 Australian Open main draw commences Sunday, January 12.
