Former world No.7 and Australian Open finalist Danielle Collins has addressed the severe pain she suffered during her first round match in Cincinnati, calling out "keyboard warriors".
Collins, who backflipped on her decision to retire at the end of 2024, went down 4-6, 6-7(2) against fellow American Taylor Townsend at the WTA 1000 event.

As Townsend stepped up to the line to serve up 2-0 in the tiebreak, Collins turned to her box as she said, 'Why is this happening to me?', in a tearful show of emotion.
Distressed after the loss, the 31-year-old left the court without her tennis bag, as Townsend handed the bag to Collins' team in the stands.
One day later, Collins shared a message on her Instagram story, outlining the reason for her discomfort.
"Anyone who has a herniated disc knows my pain; it's no surprise the keyboard warriors can't understand or relate, as they've been too busy sitting on their asses judging people who show up and try to give it their best even on days that suck," she wrote.
"Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my injury, and thank you to Taylor Townsend for being the best of the best."
