The player-coach collaboration between Naomi Osaka and Patrick Mouratoglou has officially ended, less than one year after the pair joined forces.
Since September 2024 when they first commenced working together, Osaka registered a 19-12 win-loss record, with the final straw coming after her second-round loss against Emma Raducanu in Washington last week.

"Merci Patrick. It was such a great experience learning from you. Wishing you nothing but the best... I'm sure I'll see you around," Osaka shared on X.
Mouratoglou, who has previously coached Serena Williams, also posted a touching message to the former world No.1
"Nothing lasts forever. What counts is what a collaboration has brought to each other and what lasts after," he wrote on Instagram to his 1.8 million followers.
"After 10 months of collaboration, we have decided to part ways professionally. I am grateful for the trust, the journey and what we have built together."
Osaka played her first match since parting ways with Mouratoglou, defeating Canadian qualifier Ariana Arseneault 6-4, 6-2 in the first-round of Montreal's National Bank Open.
She returned to the WTA circuit in January last year after taking time off from the sport following the birth of her daughter, Shai.
However, the Japanese power-hitter has since floundered to reach the heights which saw her win four Grand Slam titles.
At 27, Osaka sits one place inside the top 50, as she continues to resurrect her career.
