Global tennis superstars are set to descend in Hobart for another year with tickets now on sale for the 2027 Hobart International.

Fresh off record-breaking attendance at the 2026 tournament, Tasmania’s only international tennis event will return to the Domain Tennis Centre from 9–16 January, combining world-class competition with entertainment, premium hospitality, food and beverage experiences and a vibrant summer atmosphere overlooking Hobart’s iconic waterfront.

The world’s best women’s players will battle it out on the court among the intimate atmosphere of the Domain Tennis Centre, ahead of the Australian Open.

With player announcements still to come, anticipation is already building around who could take centre stage in 2027.

Hobart International Tournament Director Darren Sturgess said the success of January’s event had set the bar high for the tournament’s return.

“In January, we welcomed one of the greatest players in the history of our sport in Venus Williams, alongside a strong field of international stars. It was a fantastic reminder of the calibre of players Hobart fans can see up close,” Mr Sturgess said.

“The Hobart International is about bringing people together. It gives Tasmanians the chance to experience world-class international sport on their doorstep, while showcasing everything that makes this state such a fantastic place to visit.

“With the continued support of the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania, we’re proud of the role the tournament plays in Tasmania’s summer events calendar and the economic, tourism and community benefits it delivers.”

The excitement will also extend beyond the professional game, with Tennis Tasmania and the Hobart International supporting 1 Point Slam events across Tasmania in the lead-up to January.

Participants can progress through local events for the chance to reach the Australian Open 1 Point Slam finals in Melbourne in January 2027, where competitors will vie for a $1 million winner-takes-all prize.

Hobart International will kick off with a free community and qualifying weekend on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 January, before the main draw begins on Monday 11 January.

Tickets available now via Ticketmaster.
