D Day looming for new look US Open mixed doubles field. Who will make the cut?

Entries will officially close on Monday for the reimagined and in a lot of peoples eyes controversial new mixed doubles format to come into play at this years US Open.
As previosly reported it will break with grand slam tradition, moving to the week prior to main draw action starting, as part of ' Fan Week' with a reduced field and an altered scoring format.
The player field will feature 16 teams - eight teams earning direct entry based on their combined singles ranking based on this Monday's cut off date and eight wild-card entries to be determined after Monday.
25 teams are on the entry list.

The competition will take place during US Open Fan Week on Tuesday, Aug. 19, and Wednesday, Aug. 20, with $1 million in prize money being awarded to the winning team.

Best-of-three-set matches with short sets to four games, no-ad scoring, tiebreakers at four-all and a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
The final will be a best-of-three set match to six games, featuring no-ad scoring, with tiebreakers at six-all and a 10-point match tiebreaker in lieu of a third set.
It is a watch this space who will get the wildcard nods with a world number one like Czech Katerina Siniakova, who would comfortably make any grand slam draw having to apply for a wildcard "When two world number ones in doubles don't get into the tournament, there is probably nothing more to say about it"
Here in Washington this week, leading Aussie Alex de Minaur (smiling) said:
"Why not give a little but of love to a tennis couple. I think some of the other partnerships they haven't really said a word to each other in their lives right?"
