Alex de Minaur has been hit with an injury concern just a few weeks out from the end of the season.
Last week, the world No. 7 lost in straight sets to Daniil Medvedev in the Shanghai Masters quarter-finals, in a tournament where the Aussie notched his 50th win of the year.
De Minaur, 26, travelled to Hong Kong in anticipation of the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS), a tennis league formed by renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou and Alexei Popyrin's father, Alex, who is a businessman.

However, de Minaur announced via social media that hip trouble has forced him to withdraw from the event.
"I'm extremely disappointed in having to withdraw from UTS here in Hong Kong," he said. "It's an event that I was looking forward to playing in front of some amazing fans.
"I've always wanted to come here to Hong Kong, so I tried everything I could to play this tournament. We flew in, we tried to practice. I just have too much pain in my hips.
"I'm wishing the rest of the competitors an incredible tournament. I'm sure the fans are really going to enjoy it."

In December last year, he went undefeated at the event in London, defeating Holger Rune in the final, earning A$1.2 million.
The UTS, founded in 2020, is played over four eight-minute quarters with only one serve per point.
De Minaur will hope that his injury is only minor, given that he is currently ranked seventh in the race to Turin's ATP Finals next month.
The final Masters tournament in the calendar, the Paris Masters 1000, commences at the end of October.
