British player Emma Raducanu pleaded for a crying child to leave the stands, resulting in a clash with the umpire in Cincinnati.
Serving at 3-4 in the third set against world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, Raducanu suddenly paused her motion as she argued "it's been more than 10 minutes", referencing distracting noises from a baby in the crowd.

"It's a child. Do you want me to send a child out of the stadium?" the umpire responded.
Multiple shouts of "yes" from fans were heard after the umpire's reaction, prompting Raducanu to smile and point to the crowd in agreement.
The umpire then said, "I can call in, but we need to continue for the moment."

In what was one of the best WTA matches of the year, top-seed Sabalenka won a tight 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(5) contest, prevailing to the round of 16.
It marked Sabalenka's second victory over Raducanu in 2025, having defeated the former US Open champion in the Wimbledon third round, which also required a first set tiebreak.
