Results haven't gone the way of Daria Kastkina in 2025, but the Aussie has explained the reason for her struggles in an emotional post as she pulls the pin on the current year.

The former world No.8 switched allegiance from Russia to Australia in March, influenced by Russia's stance on gay rights and the war in Ukraine.

Kasatkina, 28, recently bundled out in the first round of the Korea Open and China Open against Katerina Siniakova and Sonay Kartal in straight sets, respectively, marking her 10th and 11th exits in the opening round of a tournament this year.

However, she has shed light on what has transpired behind the scenes from an emotional and mental standpoint, notably highlighting the schedule as a factor for reaching her "breaking point", as she announced the end of her 2025 campaign.
