Australian player Priscilla Hon has highlighted a significant pay gap between men's and women's prize money at this week's Libéma Open.

The grass tournament, held in the Netherlands, hosts ATP and WTA events in the same week, which are both categorised as 250-point tiers.

However, despite the same conditions for both fields, Hon, the world No.146, posted a short video on Instagram showing that the men's singles champion will receive €110,055 ($A180,000), whereas the women's champion is set to collect €32,520 ($A53,160).

Hon's caption read: "Before anyone gets mad, I'm just sharing the numbers. This week, a WTA 250 and ATP 250 are running side by side in the same city."

Listen to The First Serve Live every Monday at 8pm AEST in its 18th year on the SEN Network/App, Australia's only dedicated weekly tennis program on commercial radio running through till the end of November.

The 28-year-old later commented on her own post to provide clarification.

"Just to be clear, this is a system-wide issue, not just a Libéma Open issue. Just sharing the numbers and starting a conversation."

World No.82 Eva Lys dropped one word in the comments: "Interesting."

It is the same for the doubles, with the men's winners earning €38,270 ($A62,540) compared to a cheque of €11,830 ($A19,330) for the women's champions.

Prize money at the Dutch event has increased by 3 per cent and 3.1 per cent since 2025 for the women's singles and doubles champions respectively, while the men's singles and doubles winners have seen an uptick by 2.4 per cent and 2.3 per cent respectively.
