Lukas Klein has secured the Troisdorf Challenger title with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Zizou Bergs.
Klein’s run to the final and subsequent victory was the first of his career and will seem him rewarded with a near-career high ranking of world No. 242.
The Slovakian produced seven match wins in Troisdorf, including two in qualifying, to lift the trophy on Sunday.
Klein dropped just one set over the course of the week - that blemish coming in his first round qualifying against Poland’s Pawel Cias.
His final opponent, Bergs, will re-enter the world’s top-200 when he opens his account at the Poznan Challenger on Tuesday against Facundo Mena.
Earlier on Sunday, Andrea Pellegrino claimed the Vicenza Challenger title with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Argentinian Andrea Collarini.
Pellegrino, who was an alternate this week in Vicenza, was contesting his fourth career Challenger final.
The Italian’s triumph made for his first Challenger title in 2022 and the second of his career.
The 25-year-old defeated top-seed Gianluca Mager on his way to the final and the two will face off again in the first round of the Forli Challenger on Monday.
Pellegrino will be listed at a career-high world No. 184 when he takes the court in Forli while Collarini will meet Marco Cecchinato ranked at world No. 215.
