It was an outstanding week on the tour for 19-year-old Swiss star Dominic Stricker, who claimed his third career ATP Challenger title at the Finaport Zug Open, at home in Switzerland, defeating Latvian Ernests Gulbis 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 in the final.
At the Winnipeg National Bank Challenger in Canada, 30-year-old Ecuadorian Emilio Gomez claimed his fourth ATP Challenger title, defeating local Canadian Alexis Galarneau 6-3, 7-6(4) in the final.
Also in Winnipeg, Australian Li Tu reached his maiden ATP Challenger quarterfinal.
In Spain, at the Open Castilla y Leon Villa de El Espinar Challenger, it was an all-French affair in the final. No. 4 seed Hugo Grenier lifted his second career Challenger title with 7-5, 6-3 a win over Constant Lestienne.
Also in title town this week, 25-year-old Italian qualifier Raul Brancaccio claimed his maiden ATP Challenger title at the San Benedetto Cup in Italy, , defeating fellow Italian Andrea Vavassori 6-1, 6-1 in the final.
