Australia's Billie Jean King Cup captain Samantha Stosur has announced a five-player squad to make the trip to Brisbane for two crucial qualifiers in April.
The seven-time world champions are preparing to face Kazakhstan and Colombia in Group D at Pat Rafter Arena. The group winner will advance to the final eight in November.
Having recently reached a career-high No.68 after Indian Wells, Kimberly Birrell was already confirmed in the squad, with four other women joining her.
Australia's official list:
Kimberly Birrell (No.68)
Maya Joint (No.80) Ajla Tomljanović (No.88)
Ellen Perez (Doubles No.17)
Storm Hunter (Doubles No.123)
"I’m extremely excited to announce Kim, Maya, Ajla, Ellen and Storm in the team," Stosur said.
"Our No.1 Aussie woman Kim has been in great form recently, peaking at a career-high world No.75 after a huge start to 2025.
"Ajla is always an incredibly strong competitor with so much experience at this level, and she always brings a lot to the team.
"It’s also fantastic to see Storm return to the court following a devastating injury setback last year. Together with Ellen, they bring so much to our doubles strength which is a huge asset for the team."

Joint has also reached a career-high No.80 after a stellar start to 2025, including a quarter-final appearance at the Mérida WTA 500 event and qualifying for her first Indian Wells main draw.
"Maya has earned this opportunity after a brilliant 12 months, and I have no doubt she will rise to the occasion in her debut," a confident Stosur explained.
"She’s had some fantastic results and has proved she belongs at this level."
One noticeable absence is Olivia Gadecki, who featured in Australia's singles rubber against Slovakia in the quarter-finals of the BJK Cup Finals last year, as Stosur's side bowed out.
Australia welcomes back doubles specialist Storm Hunter, nearly 12 months since the former doubles No.1 ruptured her Achilles. The 30-year-old suffered the heartbreaking injury during a practice session in preparation for a BJK Cup qualifier in Brisbane last April.
Earlier this week, 16-year-old and junior No.1 Emerson Jones was announced as Australia's Orange Girl.
Kazakhstan will be headlined by former Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina, while Colombia will pose a tough test with the likes of Camila Osorio (No.54) and Emiliana Arango (No.79).
The Aussies will face Kazakhstan on Thursday April 10 and Colombia on Saturday April 12, both scheduled to commence at 12pm AEST.
