The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has provisionally suspended former Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios after violating the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme.
During an ATP 250 event in Mallorca back in June, Kyrgios' drug test returned positive for benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine.
Listen to The First Serve Live every Monday at 8pm AEST in its 18th year on the SEN Network/App, Australia's only dedicated weekly tennis program on commercial radio running through till the end of November.
Part of the ITIA statement read: "Cocaine is a stimulant and substance of abuse on the WADA Prohibited List and is banned in competition under the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme. If taken out of competition, reduced sanctions apply for substances of abuse.
"Because of the nature of the substance, a provisional suspension is mandatory and has been in place since 4 August 2026."
In Mallorca, the 31-year-old lost his first round singles match to fellow Aussie Adam Walton in straight sets.
Kyrgios, a former world No.13, can appeal the provisional suspension, but has yet to do so.

While suspended, Kyrgios is not allowed to play in, coach at, or attend any events organised or sanctioned by World Tennis, WTA, ATP, the Grand Slams, or any national association.
At the same time the ITIA statement was released, Kyrgios posted a message on his Instagram story, admitting that he is "deeply disappointed" in his actions.
