WIMBLEDON MEN'S SEMI-FINALS PREVIEW: A CLASH OF THE TITANS

Day 12 of Wimbledon is set to electrify tennis fans with two blockbuster men’s semi-final showdowns. With legacies on the line and the potential for historic upsets, here’s a look at today’s matchups:

Daniil Medvedev (RUS) vs. Carlos Alcaraz (ESP)

The first semi-final features a highly anticipated rematch from last year, with 5th seed Daniil Medvedev taking on 3rd seed Carlos Alcaraz. Medvedev is finding a newfound love for grass, coming off a significant victory against the world number 1, Jannik Sinner.

Through the tournament his backhand has been reliable, serve and returns have been accurate, and his exceptional tactical knowledge has allowed him to make opponents ‘suffer.’

The world number 5’s recent form suggests he's ready to challenge the reigning champion and make amends for last year. Alcaraz hasn't consistently played at the highest level he's capable of this tournament, but has raised the intensity and shown resilience over five sets making him difficult to beat.

Always looking to take the game on, Alcaraz will look to approach the net and use his aggressive style to wear down Medvedev. Leading their head-to-head 4-2, and with a straight-sets victory over Medvedev in last year's semi-final, Alcaraz will enter in a prime position as he looks to defend his crown.

Lorenzo Musetti (ITA) vs. Novak Djokovic (SRB)

The second semi-final pits the fearless 25th seed Lorenzo Musetti against the seven-time Wimbledon champion, Novak Djokovic. Djokovic enters this match as the heavy favourite, fresh from a three-day rest, which has allowed him to reset physically.

This is an ideal scenario, especially after his knee surgery. Djokovic's impressive head-to-head lead of 5-1 over Musetti shows his dominance. However, the young Italian is not to be underestimated. Musetti's path to the semi-finals has been nothing short of spectacular. His hard-fought five-set victory against Taylor Fritz showed his resilience and fighting spirit.

This is Musetti's best Grand Slam result, and he approaches the match with a fearless attitude. "If I play a certain way, I could have my shot against Nole," Musetti stated.

Their previous encounter at Roland Garros this year went to five sets, proving that Musetti has the potential to challenge Djokovic. Djokovic, hungry to reach his 10th Wimbledon final and secure his 25th Grand Slam title, will need all of his experience to combat Musetti's creativity and determination.

As these tennis giants clash at Wimbledon, the stage is set for another great day of tennis. Medvedev's tactical acumen against Alcaraz's relentless drive, while Djokovic's pursuit of history versus Musetti's fearless play create two exciting matches. Tennis fans are in for a treat as these athletes battle for a place in the final.
