Despite an encouraging return to the WTA Tour, Storm Hunter has sadly confirmed her Wimbledon withdrawal.

The 30-year-old made her comeback in February after rupturing her Achilles in April 2024 during practice in the lead-up to Australia's Billie Jean King Cup qualifier.

Hunter had recently paired up with Desirae Krawczyk and fellow Aussie Ellen Perez throughout the grass court swing, but announced via Instagram that she is skipping SW19.

"Hi everyone, just a quick update from me. Unfortunately, I won’t be playing Wimbledon this year due to injury 💔," she informed her 18,400 followers.

"It's heartbreaking to miss Wimby for a second year in a row 😔 Coming back to compete at this special place was one of the biggest motivators for me last year during rehab. But sometimes life doesn’t go to plan and you just have to roll with the punches.

"I've been lucky enough to have so many incredible memories over the years at Wimby, so here are a few of my fave and can't wait to come back next year to make some new ones 💚💜

"Onwards and upwards… and maybe a little strawberries and cream while I recover 🍓❤️."

Earlier this year, Hunter regained her position inside the world's top-100 of the doubles rankings after previously becoming world No.1 in November 2023.
