Another sensational display from Maya Joint has propelled the Aussie to her second-ever tour-level final at the Eastbourne Open.

The 19-year-old blasted her way past veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 7-5, 6-3 in 87 minutes.

But the last two shots of the match told the story, with Joint producing a sublime drop shot to set up two match points, where she only required the one with a ripping backhand winner down the line.

"I think if you told me at the beginning of the week that I'd be in the final, I wouldn't believe you," Joint said post-match.

"I've definitely learned to love grass this week."

Joint won her maiden WTA title on the clay courts of Morocco's Rabat last month before Roland-Garros, so what has she taken from that experience?

"I can take confidence that I won it last time, and maybe I'll be a bit less nervous than last time (laughing), but I'm just really excited to come out here and play another match.”

She becomes the first Aussie to qualify for the tournament decider since Wendy Turnbull 42 years ago.

The final will be contested against Alexandra Eala, marking the youngest Eastbourne final lineup since 1981.

Straight after the final concludes, Joint will return to the court for the doubles final, partnering eight-time doubles Slam champion Hsieh Su-wei.

The win sees Joint continue to rise in the WTA rankings, as she now sits at a career-high No.46 live.
